Club Finals Day was held on Sunday 2nd September in near-perfect conditions.

Thanks to everyone that attended and helped the day go smoothly, especially those who marked the matches.
Finally, a great deal of thanks needs to be offered to Rachel, Julie and Pat for their work in providing another good great quality buffet for the members - it was very much needed after a long day.

W.B.A. - Carruthers Shield
We will be away to R.T.B. Ebbw Vale in the third round of the WBA competition on Saturday 21st July.
As a result, the MBA game versus Machen will have to be postponed and re-arranged.

W.B.A. - Carruthers Shield
We are home to Lampeter in the second round of the WBA competition on Saturday 7th July.
Unfortunately the MBA game versus Chepstow will have to be postponed and re-arranged.

E.V.B.A. re-arranged game
The previously postponed home EVBA League match against Panteg House has been re-arranged for Wednesday 27th June 2018 at our green, 18:00 start.

W.B.A. - Carruthers Shield
We will be away to Blackwood in the First Round proper of the WBA competition on Saturday 16th June.
Unfortunately the proposed MBA game versus Cross Keys will have to be postponed and re-scheduled.

E.V.B.A. Wednesday 6th June
Our away match against Pontnewydd has been postponed, as our hosts have to play a re-arranged M.B.A. Cup match. Date for the re-arranged match has not yet been agreed.

M.B.A. Cup
Following our win against Panteg House, we will be away to Beaufort in the second round of the Cup, on Friday 8th June 2018.

M.B.A. Cup
We have been drawn away to Panteg House in the first round of the M.B.A. Cup, to be played on Friday 25th May 2018. Match postponed due to poor weather, re-arranged for Wednesday 30th May (replacing E.V.B.A. match).

Club Finals Day
Finals Day was held on Saturday 9th September 2017. Despite the weather threatening to do its worst, the games were all played as planned.
A high degree of skill was shown, and the games provided plenty of entertainment for the watching supporters.

Newport & District Over 60s League
For the third consecutive year, we have been crowned champions of the Newport & District Over-60s League.

Monmouthshire Bowling Association
Congratulations to Pontymister Athletic on winning the MBA League 2, we have both been promoted to Division 1.

Eastern Valley Bowling Association
Congratulations to everyone involved, we have finished the season as champions of the Eastern Valley Bowling Association.

The home game against St Julians today (22nd August) has been cancelled.

MBA League 2
Our result against Brynmawr on Saturday 19th August has sealed our promotion to Division 1, along with Pontymister Athletic.

Newport & District Over-60s League

The match against Panteg postponed early in the season will NOT be re-arranged.

MBA Cup Semi-Final
The postponed semi-final versus Cross Keys will now be played at Pontymister Athletic's green. Weather-permitting, we have arranged this for 18:00 Wednesday 2nd August. If the game falls foul of the weather, it will be played on Thursday 3rd instead.

EVBA versus Pontnewydd, 2nd August
This game has been postponed due to having to re-arrange our MBA Cup semi-final.

Newport & District Over-60s League
The game versus Caerleon (away) postponed from earlier in the season will be played on Thursday 31st August.

E.V.B.A. League
The game versus Croesyceiliog (away) postponed from earlier in the season will be played on Saturday 29th July. Please note this will be in whites, not greys.

MBA Cup - Semi-final draw
We have been drawn against Cross Keys in the MBA Cup semi-final, to be played at Beaufort on Friday 28th July.
PLEASE NOTE: shirt and tie for travelling to the game. Match to be played in WHITES.

MBA Division 2 match v Blackwood, home
The MBA match postponed from Saturday 8th July (for us to play our WBA game) has been re-arranged for Thursday 20th July 2017.

Please note that the start time for this match will be 14:30 and not 15:00 as originally advertised, at our visitors' request.

MBA Cup - Quarter-Final draw
We have been drawn at home to Oakdale in the Cup Quarter final to be played on Friday 14th July.

MBA Cup - Third Round
Following our victory at Belle Vue in the second round, we have been drawn home to Whiteheads on Friday 16th June 2017.

MBA Cup - Second Round
Following our win against Brynmawr in the first round, we have been drawn away to Belle Vue on Friday 2nd June 2017.

WBA (Carruthers) Shield
After successfully winning our section in the WBA, we have a bye in the first round of the competition - so enter in Round 2 with a home game on Saturday 8th July.

Opening of the green
The intention is to open the green on the day of the first friendly on Wednesday 12th April.

Pre-season Meeting
The pre-season meeting will be held in the Pavilion on Tuesday 4th April 2017, with a 19:00 start. Please could all members make an effort to attend?

Fish'n'chip supper
We are hoping to hold a social evening before the season begins, so are suggesting Friday 17th March 2017. Can you please let Howard or Simon know if you can attend?

Tour 2017
Howard has planned the Tour for 2017; we are staying in the Queens Hotel, Paignton from Friday 15th to Monday 18th September 2017 and playing 3 matches on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, travelling home on Monday:

As a result, we are planning on holding some more social nights / fish'n'ship suppers to offset some of the Tour cost. So far we are proposing

We will look at some dates for 2017 closer to the time.

Tour 2016
The games of the 2016 Tour have been completed under Mike Jones' captaincy; we have played 2 and won 2.
We had winning rinks captained by Brian Relland (versus Dorchester) and Byron Thomas (versus Wellworthy) - but also "losing" rinks: Alan Cooper and Howard Rees respectively. All games were played in the very best of spirits, and we must give thanks to our hosts on both days for making us feel very welcome. Luckily the weather was (eventually) on our side and both matches were able to be played as planned.
Our thanks as a Club must go to Mark and Ceri Williams, Ron Twinn and Mrs Pat Jones for assisting with the 6 rinks required for the Tour, and to Howard and Jill for arranging yet another successful's to the next!

Fixture Updates
Newport Over 60s
Congratulations to all involved with our Over 60s team on successfully retaining the Newport & District Over 60s League title.

EVBA versus Pontyfelin (home and away)
The games will NOT be re-arranged. The EVBA have made a decision that, as the league deadline approaches, there will be no extension to the season and therefore any unplayed games will remain that way. Therefore we have been confirmed as EVBA League Champions 2016.

EVBA versus Pontyfelin (home)
This game has been postponed again, as the opposition cannot raise a team. We are awaiting answers from EVBA in relation to both the home and away games that are supposed to be re-arranged...

MBA versus Chepstow (away)
The game postponed on Saturday 20th August will be re-played on Sunday 28th August 2016.

EVBA versus Pontyfelin (away)

The re-arranged game due to be played on Thursday 18th August has been postponed - details will be updated when we have them.

EVBA versus Pontyfelin (home)

We have managed to re-arrange a date for this game; it will be played on Friday 26th August 2016.

Newport Over60s vs Beechwood (home)

The re-arranged game scheduled for Thursday 28th July 2016 has been postponed, and will now be played on Tuesday 30th August.

Club Tour 2016:

Following the successful meeting earlier this month, the 2016 Tour has been booked.

We will be going to Weymouth on Friday 9th September 2016 and returning on Tuesday 13th.
